( Cadelle was a different place entirely for Peter. He was used to the life of a high school student where he was largely ignored, occasionally teased and taunted by people like Flash. Here, it wasn't anything like that.

People were seemed so friendly from the get go. They extended a hand of friendship so easily and offered invitations for more as if it were the most natural thing in the world. He had to remind himself constantly that it was for these people. In a place where good things were literally a way to ensure your quality of life, it would be counterproductive to be anything but welcoming.

Still, the people from other worlds who'd come to the city seemed to adjust to things easily. And a lot of them were pretty cool as far as Peter was concerned. He'd made more friends than he'd had his whole life in this place alone, and honestly, Peter found himself not sure what to do sometimes. It was a pleasant feeling to be wanted, to be sought out for attention, but sometimes, it seemed a bit overwhelming.

Peter never let that stop him from spending time with others, though. One person he spent a lot of time with, he realized, was Thom. It seemed easier with him than others, as if they were both feeling out a new world and acceptance among others together. Their situations were different, but it was nice to know that someone else out there was adjusting to a new place in a similar way. So when he called him, Peter was more than happy to answer pretty quickly. )
